Frequently Asked Questions

Being a dog owner brings a lot of joy — and a lot of poop. We put together answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners, HOAs, businesses, and commercial properties around Foley and Baldwin County, so you know exactly what to expect before we ever set foot on your property.

What services does Poo Pirates offer?

We provide professional pet waste removal for residential properties, HOAs, businesses, commercial properties, rental and managed properties, shared pet areas, and artificial turf throughout Baldwin County. Choose twice-weekly, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or one-time service based on your property and needs. Every regular cleanup includes a thorough sweep of the service area, sanitized equipment, and pet waste hauled away — so your trash can doesn’t stink.

Can my dog(s) be outside while you're servicing my yard?

Absolutely — most dogs love having a visitor. If your pup isn't a fan of strangers in the yard, just let us know ahead of time and we'll be glad to work around their schedule or ask that they be brought inside during the visit.

Can I request a specific day for my service?

We run set routes through each neighborhood on the same day(s) every week, so your service day stays consistent. Let us know your preference when you sign up and we'll do our best to accommodate it.

Do I need to be home when you arrive?

Nope. As long as we have access to the service area, you don’t need to be home for your scheduled cleanup. Of course, we always enjoy meeting our customers (and their dogs) when the timing works out.

Will you call or text before you arrive?

We text or call after every yard service is complete. And, you’ll get a confirmation alert via call or text once your property has been taken care of.

What if I need to skip a service day?

No problem at all. Just call, email, or text us and we'll skip that visit — no fees, no hassle.

My gate is locked — how will you access my yard?

If you’d like to keep your gate locked, we’re happy to use a combination lock, gate code, or another access method you provide. If your service area does not have an exterior gate and access requires entering through a house or garage, contact us ahead of time and we can make arrangements so our team can safely access the property.

What happens in bad weather?

Light rain, wind, or a cloudy day won't stop us — we're out there getting the job done. If severe weather makes it unsafe for our crew to be outside, we'll reschedule your visit and always let you know by email or text.

What if you miss a spot?

It happens occasionally, especially in thick grass or heavily wooded areas. Just reach out and let us know — we'll come back and make it right at no extra charge. Your satisfaction is what keeps us in business.

How do you bill for service?

Recurring service is prepaid at the beginning of each month, making your service schedule simple and predictable. We accept major credit cards, Zelle, Venmo, checks, and cash. Major credit cards include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

Do you service HOAs and commercial properties?

Absolutely. Poo Pirates provides pet waste removal for homeowners as well as HOAs, neighborhood associations, apartment and multifamily communities, businesses, commercial properties, rental properties, dog areas, and shared outdoor spaces. Contact us for a custom quote based on property size, number of pet areas, and desired service frequency.

Do you clean artificial turf?

Yes. Poo Pirates offers artificial turf pet waste clean-up for residential and commercial properties. We remove pet waste from turf areas and can establish recurring service to help keep the space cleaner, fresher, and more enjoyable for pets and people.

Do you offer any discounts?

We're proud to be a veteran-owned business, and we love taking care of our fellow military, veteran, and first-responder neighbors. Reach out and ask us what we can do for you.

It's getting late — are you still coming?

We work during daylight hours and always aim to finish your route with plenty of light left. If weather or another delay pushes us past that window, we'll notify you and reschedule your visit for the next available day.

Should I let you know if my dog is sick?

Yes, please! While we already take precautions at every property we service, knowing ahead of time helps us take extra care to prevent the spread of illness between properties.

Will it be the same person each week?

Yes! Poo Pirates is owned and operated by Scott, a local veteran who personally handles the scooping for our customers. When you book with us, you're getting a dedicated business owner who takes pride in showing up and doing the job right — not a rotating crew of strangers.

Do you need access to my backyard from outside the house?

An exterior gate is the easiest option, but it isn’t required. If your backyard or service area can only be reached through a garage or through the house, let us know when scheduling your service. We can work with you to make appropriate access arrangements ahead of time.
